My 2019 Overview

I'm not normally one for resolutions, but this year feels different. This year I'm taking myself seriously and getting smart about how I plan. With a full time job and aspirations for personal projects I have discovered that planning has been an important tool that's been lacking in my life. I will share a few posts about my planning process eventually but today I wanted to share my plans for 2019.

New Website

In 2018 I purchased a new website host and url. I've owned bluessence.com for close to 10 years, it felt like time to move on to something new. beckybarnes.art is going to be my new hub! In 2019 I'll be focusing on setting up a webstore here for my prints and originals. I will probably keep my Etsy store open for my jewelry and some prints still.

Social Media Schedule

I'm planning an actual schedule for my social media in 2019 which is new for me. I currently post whenever I have something worth sharing so I'm excited about the possibilities of consistent posting. It should allow me to curate my posts a bit and push me to post on each of my accounts regularly.

Personal Project

This year I want to complete the first book in my series of sci-fi fantasy fairytales. I'm hoping that with propper planning I can avoid distractions and stay focused on completing the first book by the end of the year. You can find more details about the project on my Patreon.

Sketchbook Zine

To reduce the risk of getting burned out on my personal project I have a simple project in the works for 2019. I want to start releasing yearly sketchbooks again, I will be doing it in the form of a sketchbook zine. I haven't decided yet if each year will be themed but it should be a fun process either way.

So that's the list! I am trying to be realistic in my plans and not overbook. By creating this list and a proper plan to maintain momentum I'm hoping I can stay focused throughout the year, wish me luck!
